Mrs. Gussie Lue Vines Funeral Notice Ms. Gussie Lue Vines, 88, of Opelika (formerly of LaFayette) died Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 11322 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, LaFayette at 12:00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Gary Dixon and Rev. Jerone Fannin officiating. The interment was in Garden Hill Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL. Ms. Vines is survived by seven devoted children: Carolyn Vines-Gary, Sheila Davenport (William), Aundra Vines, Rev. Eduardo Vines (Faye), Timothy Vines (Toni), Kindness Vines and Dr. Shewanda L. Vines; one brother: Ray Finley; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
